Will Bhumika Gurung play the protagonist in Suhaagan after the time leap?

Last week, we reported about Suhaagan all set to go in for a time leap, which will mark the exit of child artistes Aakriti Sharma and Kurangi Nagraj and pave the way for grown-up actors to take over the lead roles. We have now learnt that Bhumika Gurung, who became a household name with her stint on Nimki Mukhiya and was last seen in Hara Sindoor, is in talks for the lead character of Bindiya, currently played by Aakriti.
Informed a source associated with the show, “The time leap was scheduled to take place earlier than it is happening, and we had approached Bhumika for the part even before the show went on air. However, we postponed the leap as we wanted to build the story and the characters of child artistes. The show will soon take the time leap, and talks with Bhumika have reached an advanced stage. If everything falls into place, she will sign the deal with us soon.”
Bhumika said, “Yes, I am in discussion with the makers, but nothing is confirmed yet.”
While talking about her exit, Aakriti in a previous interview, told us, “I haven’t received any confirmation regarding the time leap, and I continue to shoot for the show.”
Her mother added, “We have not got any confirmation regarding the leap yet. However, we knew the track wouldn’t run for long because as per the title, the storyline had to focus on the married woman eventually. Aakriti had summer vacations when this offer came our way, and we felt it was a good role.”
