Yashika Aannand is all set to feature in the special episode of the TV soap,
Roja. The actress will play herself in this one-hour episode, which will be telecast soon. “I come for a reason, and it is definitely not a character with a negative shade,” laughs Yashika, adding, “The director and producer of the serial had asked me a couple of times earlier, but I couldn’t take up the opportunity then.
They called me again for this special episode, and I took it up as I was free during this lockdown.”
The actress had shot for her portions recently, when the government had given permission to shoot. “Everyone was friendly on the set, but we had to take a lot of precautions. We had to sanitise after every shot. There were only a limited number of people. The shooting atmosphere felt quite different,” says Yashika.
So, how did it feel to shoot for a TV soap? She says, “In a way, I’m from television because I did Bigg Boss Tamil. But this was my first tryst with a serial. From mouthing lengthy dialogues to the long working hours, I realised acting in a serial involves a lot more work than films. Nevertheless, it was a great experience.”
