A West Bengal man has developed a robot that can help autistic children learn, spread awareness on diseases such as dengue, and even work as a waiter. Atanu Ghosh, a resident of Howrah city, built his robot ‘Bravo’ at his own expense. He learned to design robots from his father, who worked in Calcutta University’s Department of Physiology as a research equipment designer. While talking to ANI, Atanu Ghosh said, “This is my pilot project. I built Bravo in three months. This will be completed properly in two weeks. Bravo is an AI-controlled robot.” Atanu Ghosh designed his first remote-controlled robot in 1979 at the age of 18. He had earned appreciation from the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for his first robot. He built his next robot ‘Krity’ during the pandemic period and used it to deliver medicines to COVID-19 patients.
