The flight was scheduled to arrive in Guwahati at 11:10 PM but it touched down in Dhaka at 4 AM on Saturday. The pilot initially considered Kolkata as an alternative, but unfavorable weather conditions there led to the decision to redirect the flight. Bhubaneswar was the next option, but a closed runway prompted the flight to make an emergency landing in Dhaka, the closest available airport.
