The Night Agent: Viewers love the new OTT show for its curiosity and intrigue
A sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller based on the novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent has lots of promise. Its central character, Peter Sutherland, is an ordinary FBI agent played by actor Gabriel Basso. Sutherland is low in the hierarchy and works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that will supposedly ring only in an extreme emergency.
One night it does ring, transporting agent Peter Sutherland into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy leading to the Presidential Office.
That, in short, is what the 10-episode The Night Agent, a new show that debuted on March 23 on OTT is all about.
Netizens are already loving it. Itzel, a twitter user tweets, “whoever on *** (OTT platform) made the night agent should be in charge of content; it’s there (sic) best in a long time…”
“It’s soooo good” tweets Gabss in much the same vein. Well, it’s so good Tony Lange also tweeted, “For anyone thinking about starting ‘The Night Agent’ series at 10 p.m. and just watching one episode before bedtime … it’s not possible. Learn from my mistake.” Several comments from other users talked about their binge-watching experience with The Night Agent.
Meanwhile, here is an other interesting piece of trivia: Gabriel Basso’s Instagram follower base has swelled five times since his new show premiered on OTT. His co-stars in the show include Luciane Buchanan and Hong Chau.
Most netizens feel one should just go for it. The show is not going to disappoint. Critics have okayed it too. As Daniel D’Addario of Variety sums up: “The Night Agent sparks with curiosity and intrigue, a richly detailed show that propels viewers forward with a relentless pace.”
