🏳️🌈 "Since day one I have chosen to show my true self at work, and I’ve felt I fit right in, and that feels good!" 🏳️🌈 Hoping to inspire others, our talented Software Engineer Juan Garcia shares his experience of being a queer person in the tech industry. In his personal blog he explains how: 👨💻 His fear of being a gay man in software engineering led him to follow a very different career path initially. 💥 He overcame that fear and found the confidence to kickstart his career in tech. 🏳️🌈 He has found acceptance and been able to bring his true self to work at Funding Circle. "Since joining Funding Circle, I have become a member of the LGBTQ+ Circler group," says Juan. "We plan activities throughout the year to raise awareness, educate other Circlers and organise socials and events to raise money for different charities. "I’ve seen first-hand how the company is investing in people like me. I can see how much we are trying to diversify our Engineering team by hiring queer talent so we can build better products that appeal to and engage with a broader and more diverse population." 📣 Also, a big shout out to Le Wagon London for helping Juan brush up on his skills.
