NCERT offers free online courses on the SWAYAM portal for classes XI and XII

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has introduced MOOCs catering to students in class XI and XII. The NCERT has been designated as National Coordinator (NC) for the development and dissemination of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for school education. These courses will be accessible through Study Webs of Active - Learning for Young Aspiring Minds, SWAYAM portal and mobile app. 

The courses featured on SWAYAM are structured into four distinct quadrants:

• Video Lectures: Engaging video presentations that facilitate effective learning.
• Specially crafted reading material:   These materials can be conveniently downloaded and printed, providing accessibility for offline learning.
• Self-assessment tools: Students can gauge their understanding through self-assessment tests and quizzes.
• Online discussion forums: A platform for students to seek clarification from mentors, engage in discussions, and address doubts with their peers, thereby fostering interactive learning.

Class XI MOOCs include Accountancy; Biology, Part-1; Biology, Part-II; Business Studies, Part-1; Chemistry, Part-1; Chemistry, Part-2; Economics, Part-I; Geography, Part-I; Geography, Part-II; Mathematics, Part-I; Mathematics, Part-II; Physics, Part-I; Physics, Part-II; Psychology Part-I; Psychology Part-II; Sociology Part-I.

MOOCs for class XII include Biology, Part-I; Business Studies, Part-I; Chemistry Part-I; Economics, Part-I; English-Part-I (APPEAR); Geography, Part-I; Geography, Part-II; Mathematics, Part-1; Physics, Part-1; Physics, Part-II; Psychology, Part-I and Sociology, Part-I.            

Important dates

Course enrolment last date: September 1, 2024.

The course end date: September 30, 2024.

• Register on https://swayam.gov.in
• Access the course by clicking on the course link
• Enrol in the free course.
• Learn the content and complete all activities
• Take up the final assessment and get certified
