Mr. India Supranational 2019 Varun Verma, too, started his second day of homecoming on a nostalgic note.“These are all the people who have made me whatever I am today, and I can’t thank them enough for shaping my career. So my homecoming would have not been possible without meeting all of them,” said Varun. From visiting his school and college, to spending some time at an NGO, the new Mr India Supranational had a great time. He ended the day on a high note as he went back to his own gym.
Varun’s win has not only been a matter of pride for his friends and family, but also his teachers. So Varun started his day at his school, Cambridge Foundation School, in Rajouri Garden. After clicking selfies with the current batch of students, he went around the school and spoke to his teachers. “I feel nostalgic as this visit has reminded me of the exciting time that I have spent here and those were definitely the best days of my life,” he said. Varun went to an old age home and a shelter for underprivileged and sponsored the lunch for those in need. “The founder of this NGO is
doing some amazing work from the last 25 years. He helps people by giving them shelter and food. People can also come and contribute at places like these to help those who actually need it,” he said. The highlight of the day was definitely Varun’s visit to his alma mater in Janakpuri. Excited students and teachers welcomed him with dhols, garlands and party poppers. “I have been reprimanded so much by all my teachers. I remember whenever Ravinder Singh Kajal sir would see me crossing the staff room, he would call me and say, ‘Model, kya kar rahe ho apni life ke saath?’ All the teachers at my college have been like my friends,” he said. Varun also came back to the place that he probably loves the most – his gym. After exercising for 15 minutes with his gym buddies, he told us, “I have come here after 20 days. This is the place that I love the most. I have worked really hard to make my dream of opening a gym come true and I am glad to end my day with a gym session like this,” he said.
