The search for beauty queen Geneva Lopez and her Israeli boyfriend, Yitshak Cohen, has taken a crucial turn. PNP (Philippine National Police) spokesperson Jean Fajardo revealed during a press briefing that persons of interest in the couple's mysterious disappearance have been identified. While details remain under wraps, Fajardo assured that the authorities are following "very good leads."

A special investigation task group, encompassing officers from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Highway Patrol Group, and Anti-Cybercrime Group, has been mobilized to unravel the mystery surrounding Geneva and Yitshak. The couple was last seen on June 21, as reported by Geneva's family to the Angeles City Police Office.

Geneva had informed her relatives of an impending meeting to inspect a property in Capas, Tarlac, accompanied by Yitshak. The property deal involved a former police officer from Angeles, who acted as a middleman. According to an affidavit, he parted ways with the couple after the visit.

The investigation took a grim turn when the Capas Fire Station responded to a car fire on June 22 in Tarlac. Among the charred remains were Geneva's personal belongings, including her ID card, found inside a burnt sports utility vehicle. Subsequent searches, including drone surveillance on June 28, failed to uncover further clues about the couple's whereabouts.

In a desperate plea for information, Yitshak's family has announced a P250,000 reward for any leads that could bring them back—the disappearance of Geneva, who recently represented Sto. Tomas at the Mutya ng Pilipinas Pampanga 2024 has left the community in shock and yearning for answers.

The authorities continue to probe diligently, hoping that the lead will soon shed light on the fate of Genevamand and her boyfriend.
