#WomenInSpotlight: Sub Lieutenant Anamika B. Rajeev makes history as Indian Navy's first woman helicopter pilot!
The Indian Navy has taken a giant leap forward for women in defence. Sub-Lieutenant Anamika B. Rajeev made history as the Indian Navy's first-ever woman helicopter pilot, graduating during a passing out parade held last week at INS Rajali, the naval air station in Arakkonam.

This momentous occasion not only marks a significant step towards gender equality in the Indian Navy but also a collective celebration of the officers' achievements. Anamika and 21 other officers received their prestigious 'Golden Wings' from Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command. The ceremony on June 7th was a testament to the successful completion of the 102nd Helicopter Conversion Course.

But wait, there's more! The event also marked the graduation of three officers from Stage I training in the 4th Basic Helicopter Conversion Course. The 22-week program at the Indian Naval Air Squadron 561, known as the alma mater for all Navy helicopter pilots, is renowned for its intensity, encompassing demanding flying and ground training.

Anamika's accomplishment is a true inspiration for young women aspiring to careers in aviation and defence. It paves the way for a future where women can soar high and contribute their skills to protecting our nation's security. Here's a special salute to Anamika for making history!
