Ananya Panday's Story
The talented Ananya Panday has taken a pledge to promote a safe space on social media through her impactful initiatives. In June 2019, she launched So Positive, a digital social responsibility (DSR) initiative, aimed at combating cyberbullying and promoting healthy social media behaviour. Through So Positive, Ananya seeks to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of online harassment and create a safer online environment for users, especially the youth.
Ananya’s commitment to fostering positivity extends beyond So Positive. On World Social Media Day, June 30, in 2019, she unveiled the Social Media For Social Good series, highlighting the constructive power of social media. This series aimed at highlighting the work of individuals who utilised social media positively during the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating its potential for social change and community support. In the same year, she launched her Swachh Social Media campaign, on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti.
Ananya’s dedication to social responsibility is rooted in her belief in Mahatma Gandhi’s principle, ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world’. Through her initiatives, not only is she leveraging her position for social good but also inspiring others to join the movement towards a healthier and more compassionate digital landscape.
