Business Group on Health has long held that protecting employer-provided health care coverage will advance the health and financial security of the United States by providing stable and effective financial protection to millions of individual workers and their families To that end, we are proud to be one of nearly 70 influential organizations that have recently urged Congress to protect the foundation and affordability of America’s health care coverage by keeping employer-provided health care coverage tax-free. The 15th Annual Employer-Sponsored Health and Well-being Survey reported that only 7% of employers in the United States offer a lifestyle spending account (LSA) in 2024, but 19% of global employers offer them. Employer-funded post-tax accounts that provide employees with a fixed amount to spend on the well-being resources they most value, LSA adoption can be hampered by administrative cost and program complexity. https://okt.to/896q4k Business Group on Health Fidelity Investments

After 50 years of steady decline, cardiovascular mortality rates began to plateau in the past decade. Now, alarmingly, we are seeing an uptick which many believe is due to a disease that 90% of adults meet criteria for but many may not have heard of. In this episode of the Business Group on Health podcast, we talk with Dr. Chiadi Ndumele, board-certified cardiologist and lead author of the Presidential Advisory Report on Cardiovascular-Kidney-Metabolic Health, about CKM syndrome. Defined as the overlap of obesity, diabetes, chronic kidney disease and the cardiovascular system, CKM Syndrome impacts individuals of all ages and is believed to be driving the uptick. Learn more about ways to increase awareness of CKM Syndrome and identify the genetic, social and environmental risk factors of the condition on this edition of the podcast. https://okt.to/PZqaQo

Nearly all employers said well-being programs continued to play a role in their overall workforce strategy and that they would maintain funding for these programs at current levels, according to the 15th Annual Employer-Sponsored Health and Well-being Survey, by Business Group on Health and Fidelity Investments. Some other major findings: More than half of all respondents plan to broaden their well-being strategy in the next three to five years to address social determinants of health; employers also plan to continue providing family-forming benefits and reproductive support in the near future. https://okt.to/Lc4P0t
