We couldn't do this without you. Second, look at all we accomplished and are being recognized for as a company. We've received awards from national publications to local outlets including Forbes, U.S. News & World Report, Newsweek, Statista, MountainWest Capital Network, Utah Business, Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity, Nareit, and Inside Self Storage. The talented Shirley St. John, everybody! 🎤 As we continue to reflect on this great country's independence, we hope you'll stop and watch this video of employee, Shirley St. John, singing the national anthem at a local baseball game. Shirley is a one-of-a-kind Store Manager and has been with Extra Space Storage for nearly five years. When she stepped out on the baseball field to sing The Star Spangled Banner, her fellow teammates were right there in the crowd to support her. 🎆 Happy Fourth of July! 🎇 William Mann, Division Vice President and Military/Veteran Employee Resource Group member, shares his thoughts and traditions when celebrating our country's Independence Day. "The 4th of July has always been my favorite holiday. It's a time to celebrate our nation's independence with family, friends, and cherished traditions that make the day special." Here are some of the ways Will loves to honor this patriotic holiday: ◾ Get dressed in red, white, & blue. ◾ Read the Declaration of Independence (it's only 1 page!). Even though the US Constitution came later, I still feel it's a good time to read through parts of it as well. ◾ Grill out and eat cheeseburgers/hot dogs while listening to my "USA" Spotify mix. ◾ Hang out by the pool to cool off from the summer heat. ◾ This is the big one...Watch "The Sandlot" with my family. ◾ Watch Fireworks & light up some sparklers to end the night! Chandra has been a pivotal part of Extra Space Storage since 2010, contributing significantly to the company’s growth and success. In his role, he leads the Data Science, Revenue Management, and Digital Analytics and Systems teams, driving innovation and strategy within the company. This year, Chandra took on the role of Senior Leadership Sponsor for the BIPOC ERG, further demonstrating his commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion. Happy Freedom Day! 🎉 #Juneteenth To honor this meaningful day, team members in Salt Lake City enjoyed a slice of pie from James Gourmet Pies, a black and veteran-owned local business here in #Utah. Juneteenth, short for "June Nineteenth," is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston and read General Order Number Three, declaring: "The people of Texas are informed that in accordance with a Proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free."
