Every person deserves to be safe and accepted as they grow older—not forced back into the closet or isolated. LGBTQ+ aging adults are twice as likely to confront being single and living alone, according to SAGE, an advocacy organization that’s been looking out for LGBTQ+ elders for decades. https://lnkd.in/gCTsZX-m

248 years ago, our country rejected monarchy and the idea that an authoritarian had absolute power over the people. But today, Trump’s divisive rhetoric, right-wing bullies, and the MAGA agenda all pose a powerful threat to our democracy, our hard-earned rights, our freedom, and the power we hold as people in America. Join us to fight back to defend our democracy: https://hrc.im/weShowUp

The future of the LGBTQ+ community and the country lies in the hands of young people–and they are working to build a better future for not just themselves but everyone. “The Young Equalizers” is an intimate look at their everyday lives the challenges they overcome, and how they are leaning into their identities to overcome these challenges: https://lnkd.in/e-vKWziG 📸🏳️🌈 #YoungEqualizers #LGBTQ #LGBTQYouth #TransYouth

Ballroom culture has long provided LGBTQ+ folks, namely our Black and Brown trans siblings, a safe and joyous space to express their identities while fostering queer community and activism. Our friend and trans activist Lilianna Reyes invited us to join a ball event in Detroit to celebrate #PrideMonth and discuss the impact balls have had and continue to have on LGBTQ+ history.

Ahead of tonight’s debate, Trump’s intentions are loud and clear. He wants to be a dictator and dismantle LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive freedom, and our democracy. A second Trump administration would be detrimental for our progress. With so much at stake, we can’t afford another Trump presidency. That’s why we’re mobilizing 75 million Equality Voters to elect pro-equality champions up and down the ballot this November. Join us to defend our rights and our future: https://hrc.im/ShowUp

“Education, exemplified through our health equity-focused peer facilitator program, GENERATE, emboldens the next generation of advocates to continue the conversation around overall sexual health and wellness, and spread awareness on the importance of getting tested.” Our own Torrian L. Baskerville sat down with The Advocate to discuss HIV Testing Day, HRC's HIV and Health Equity program, and how they are empowering the next generation of HIV advocates. https://bit.ly/3zm1ZsW
