Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges is seeking a President and Chief Executive Officer. The Commission is a nonprofit and volunteer membership association for Pennsylvania's 15 community colleges. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution and several years of executive-level management experience. Experience in the field of higher education, supervision, advocacy, lobbying, grant development, and fundraising. Proven successes with legislative processes. Experience with and managing budgets and financial reports. Demonstrated success in communication regularly with various senior-level executives. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Doctorate or professional degree. Demonstrated experience leading advocacy efforts in a bi-partisan manner. Higher education senior executive level experience or a similar role. Association management experience. Demonstrated experience fostering results measured legislative success. Drawing from her experiences as the openly lesbian immediate-past-president of the American Library Association, Emily Drabinski will share strategies for leading through the fire even when it is all around you. Since 2021, the ALA documented record numbers of books banned from shelves. Library and school boards have been targeted for takeover by anti-LGBTQIA+ extremists. Adverse legislation in Missouri, South Carolina, Texas, Florida, Idaho, and across the country has criminalized the sharing of queer stories alongside laws banning gender-affirming care and restricting the teaching of gay history in schools. Hansen The LGBTQ resource center at the University of Utah closed on July 1 to comply with a new state law regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion. For Lauryn Hansen, a former Point Scholar and University of Utah alum, the center was essential in helping her graduate. These centers are important for creating a sense of community for LGBTQ students, who depend on them to foster well-being, a sense of belonging on campus, and access to crucial support. https://lnkd.in/gVzjb5G8

Located in the Finger Lakes region of western New York, SUNY Geneseo is a public liberal arts college with 4,100 students.
