It’s a big day! We are pleased to announce the drop of The Bodacious Optimist, Mamava’s newest pod—this one a cast of interesting characters hosted by none other than our cofounder and Chief Experience Officer Sascha Mayer. Sascha’s first guest is a powerhouse: Raena Boston, co-founder of the Chamber of Mothers, discussing their mission to empower mothers and advocate for childcare, paid leave, and maternal health. Have a listen, get inspired, subscribe, rate and review. Craving more? Listen to Sascha recount the highlights of her path to pods (this cast and the lactation spaces she and Christine Dodson invented) in a bonus conversation with Nicci Micco: https://lnkd.in/dxCgYFeD #femalefounders #podcast #maternalhealth #paidleave

About us
Mamava designs freestanding lactation pods for breastfeeding parents at work and on the go. Mamava is the leading expert in lactation space design. Mamava celebrates and supports the 21st-century breastfeeding mama on-the-go with freestanding lactation pods, a mobile locator app, and an engaged digital community. Our mission is to create a healthier society through a changed cultural perception of pumping and nursing that affords every woman the opportunity to nurse her child regardless of her circumstances. Mamava is mama-owned, made in America, and a proud member of the B Corp community. A category creator, Mamava is working to ensure breastfeeding is a right for all mothers, and just not a privilege for the few. Federal, state, and municipal laws protect a breastfeeding mother’s right to pump at work in a non-bathroom space. Mamava’s freestanding, turnkey lactation pods are an easy way to come into compliance with lactation accommodation laws. Legislation drives change! According to SHRM’s 2024 employee benefits survey, there has been a 19% increase in organizations providing an onsite lactation room compared to last year’s survey. The PUMP for Nursing Mothers was passed at the end of 2022 and updated federal labor law to require all employers to provide breastfeeding employees with break time and a non-bathroom lactation space. #employeebenefits #workplacewellness #breastfeeding #workingparents

“‘We have heard from workers in essentially all industries that their employer doesn’t know how to comply and says it’s not possible. There is always some solution available — you may have to be more creative.’” -Liz Morris, the deputy director of the Center for WorkLife Law, for The 19th. Industry leaders from Mamava, A Better Balance, and the Center for WorkLife Law | UC Law San Francisco weigh in on the impact the PUMP Act has had on employers, and why employees still aren’t supported at work. Woot! We love this conversation between Mamava cofounder Sascha Mayer and Kortney Ross on how supporting breastfeeding means talking about what breastfeeding parents need at work and on the go. #inclusivedesign #lactationsupport #podcast
I help leaders support working parents so that they can create a workplace culture that attracts and retains the best people.🏆 I also have some mad toddler-wrangling skills!👩👧👦
Mamava pods are designed to spark conversation. To bring joy. To help you meet your lactation goals. They are NOT meant to hide breastfeeding. (Although they certainly provide privacy!) 🧵 A common thread between my interview this week with Sascha Mayer and last week with Kate Torgersen: 🤱We shouldn't be hiding breastfeeding away and pretending it's not happening in our workplaces and public places. To change the culture and support around breastfeeding, we must celebrate it and TALK ABOUT IT! 🗣️ I invite you to listen to us talk about it! Both conversations were insightful, whether you are currently breastfeeding, an employer trying to do better for your lactating employees, or just an ally interested in learning more. 🔗 Check them both out now at: https://lnkd.in/ebHzWC8y #breastfeeding #lactation #breastfeedingsupport
