Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend our Owners Meeting in Las Vegas as a "FutureMaker" - somebody recognized as a high-performing manager with the ability to shape the future of RSM US LLP and on track to potentially become a future owner. When my leadership team shared the news of my nomination with me, I was immensely thankful for the recognition, but curious how to balance the program requirements since I was expecting my first child! As always, my amazing mentor and friend Jennifer Busse (IMAA) helped me make a plan and championed me the entire way so I was able to hop off of maternity leave to join the firms leaders in strategy and leadership sessions. Major shout out to my husband, Sean Kotalik , for holding down the fort at home with our 8 week old son (who benefited from some cute merch) and program lead Abbie Weispfenning for working with my LOA. I was horrible about taking photos while there, but highlights included keynote speaker Condoleezza Rice, a leadership change management simulation, and a 5K on the Vegas strip for the RSM Foundation. And special shout out to RSM US LLP 's benefits for new mothers - I was able to pump and overnight breastmilk home via Milk Stork !

🛩️🧳Work travel can be fun, right? New cities, new restaurants, new sights to see. Work travel while nursing can be a challenge. After a marathon week of plane and car rides, I am more grateful than ever both for companies like Milk Stork, Mamava, and Elvie for making this kind of travel easier and to work for a company that respects and supports the unique challenges that come with traveling while nursing. 🍼🧳 #womeninmanufacturing #momsinmanufacturing #milkonthego #workingmoms #employeesupport

I help leaders support working parents so that they can create a workplace culture that attracts and retains the best people.🏆 I also have some mad toddler-wrangling skills!👩👧👦
Women should have a choice. The choice to breastfeed... or not. The choice to go on that work trip... or not. The choice to return to work after baby... or not. Women often feel like they don't have a choice though. Companies like Milk Stork are helping improve things but we have a long way to go as a society. Listen to today's episode of NextGen Work Culture for my conversation with Kate Torgersen, CEO and founder of Milk Stork. She shares why she started the company, why it's an important benefit to offer for employees, and more. Find it wherever you get your podcasts! AND... if you haven't already, register for the free webinar I'm presenting in collaboration with Milk Stork next Thursday, June 27! #breastfeeding #lactation
