This July, MicroHealth is observing National Hire a Veteran Month! We’ll be spotlighting some of the employees on our team who have served in the Armed Forces. We’re kicking off this month with Michael H., Head of Information Technology at MicroHealth! Michael oversees MicroHealth's IT initiatives and strategy, managing the systems and services essential for achieving the company's corporate and project objectives. Before MH, Michael served as a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force and was a Medical Service Corps Officer (Healthcare Administrator). There, he learned “a great understanding of federal acquisition and federal health data and interoperability standards.” His favorite part about working at MicroHealth? “The camaraderie. We are a veteran-owned company, and we share that familiar culture of working hard toward a common goal while looking after each other.” In his free time, he enjoys traveling ✈️, attending concerts 🎫, playing with his dogs 🐶, riding his motorcycle 🏍️, and going to Capitals 🏒 and Nationals ⚾️ games. Meet Lewis R., a Comment Letter Support Specialist at MicroHealth! Lewis supports a federal client, collecting customer comments and placing them on the internet. After decades in the service industry, Lewis pivoted to tech during the pandemic. He believes MicroHealth is a “great company with lots of room to grow.” His advice to new employees? “It's important to stay connected to the other employees of MicroHealth, especially if you're a contract worker. Earlier this month, MicroHealth attended the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Small Business Forum and Expo in Minneapolis! MicroHealth hit the green — and won second place! 🥈⛳️ Yesterday, we sponsored and participated in the 2024 HIMSS NCA (National Capital Area) Chapter 2nd Annual Charity Golf Scramble at the Army Navy Country Club's Fairfax course. This tournament supported the Boulder Crest Foundation, which assists Veterans, first responders, and their families with Posttraumatic Growth (PTG), and the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, providing college scholarships and educational counseling to children of deceased military personnel.
