This week, we participated in Renesas Tech Day held at the Sheraton in Minneapolis. The event was filled with great speakers and live demos (yes, us too, with our CTO Stephen Bailey pictured👇 behind the Syntiant table). Plus, we learned what’s new with Renesas Electronics’ newest AI-driven products and solutions. #edgeAI #AI

Edge AI is helping improve the lives of people all over the world across so many industries and use cases. Fires caused by rechargeable batteries, including lithium-ion batteries, have been increasing steadily across many cities, causing significant damage and even death. These incidents have occurred in various contexts, from electric vehicles to e-bikes, and even in laptops. We are working with the tinyML Foundation on its next #hackathon. Details are forthcoming but we'll be looking for participants to create a system using #edgeAI and #tinyML for active monitoring and predictive maintenance of high-density battery cells. Right now, the search is on for subject-matter experts (see post below). Their first-hand knowledge will be super helpful as new #edgeAI solutions to address battery fires will be introduced. Please share the word (and this post). Reach out to us if you have any questions. Many thanks.
🚒🔋 Calling All Firefighting Heroes! 🚒🔋 We are on a mission to enhance safety measures for e-scooters and e-bikes and need the expertise of skilled firefighters. 🔥 If you’re a firefighter experienced in handling battery fires, or know someone who is, we need your insights! 🤝 Help us prevent battery-related incidents by joining our Hackathon as a subject matter expert. We value your knowledge and dedication to safety. 📥 Not a firefighter but know one? Please tag them or share this post to help us connect. Together, we can make a significant impact and improve safety standards for everyone. 👉 Direct message us or leave a comment below if you’re interested or can help us connect with a professional. Let’s tackle this challenge together! #FireSafety #FirePrevention #EScooterSafety #EBikeSafety #PublicSafety #JoinOurMission

Large language models are improving the way humans and machines interact, such as in the field of natural language processing. Moving these massive neural networks to the edge, however, is the next step in the evolution of these advanced algorithms. In a presentation during the recent tinyML Foundation forum, "Edge of Tomorrow," our own Mallik Moturi outlines the path for real-time #LLM processing on edge devices utilizing Syntiant’s sparsity-based optimizations, without sacrificing performance and accuracy.
