Nonresidential buildings that are more than 50,000 square feet, and multifamily and mixed-use buildings over 50,000 square feet with 17 or more utility accounts are required to submit energy data through the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager annually to remain in compliance. This week, the City of San Diego's Public Utilities Department hosted members of the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board for a tour of San Vicente Reservoir and Dam. Thanks to two consecutive wet winters, the City is on track to use local water for more than 25% of our water supply this year, up from a typical yearly average of 10-15%! 💧 The City’s nine drinking water supply reservoirs and dams are crucial for increasing our use of local water and diversifying our water supply. As part of the tour, staff demonstrated how water is moved between reservoirs and drafted to our water treatment plants for use. They also touched on the City’s Dam Safety Program and highlighted several ongoing projects. #SanDiego

We exceeded our asphalt overlay goal in fiscal year 2024! 👏 Construction crews provided new life for more than 71 miles of roadways, including major segments of University Avenue, Convoy Street, Ingraham Street and Navajo Road, surpassing the goal of 60 miles. 🚧 This fiscal year, with more than $104 million invested, we anticipate finishing at least 75 miles of asphalt overlay. #SanDiegoAtWork
