My sons learned a lesson yesterday. The lesson was: No free lunch (𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘸) Here's the story: I'm very proud of my tween sons. They were asking me to buy them some toys that I thought were unnecessary and expensive. My wife and I decided to use this as a learning opportunity for our boys. I told them I would pay half the price, but they would need to earn the rest. So they decided to work for it! On 11th July, with temperatures reaching up to 40°C (104°F), we set up a lemonade stand close to our house 🍋 🍋 Instead of just having people come to them, I showed them how to approach people, and offer the lemonade to everyone who passed by the stand. We sold out within an hour! Several people came back for seconds, and one guy (our neighbor) gave them a big tip. They felt good with some money pouring into their pockets. Some lemonades were given away for free to those who were on the street but had no cash. Giving is very important, and I'm proud of how my kids managed to complete this task, to make money and to give at the same time. 🔊 Financial literacy isn't just for adults. The best advice parents can give to their kids 👇 Here me out loud and clear: If your kids' school has just ended, that's great. Summer break can be fun for children. They should enjoy themselves, spend time with friends & party. When we were their age, we did the same. But summer break can be boring if all they do is scroll through their phone screens, spending too much time on TikTok or Instagram. Big waste of time, right!? Here is what you should advise them to do: - Guide them to invest 50 hours in learning about AI - There are 25 weeks left in 2024 - Spend 2 hours each week - That's it! If they become: - Curious about AI's potential - Understanding how AI will transform today's work - Aware of how AI will change whatever they learn in school Then, you've done your job as a parent. #AISummitLondon 2024 is over 🇬🇧, and I'm feeling more inspired than ever to help customers increase transparency and control in their AI systems. As we harness AI's potential and push the boundaries of AI capabilities at an unprecedented speed, the need to take on risk with confidence is greater than ever before. Risk is everybody's business, and a key takeaway from almost every session is that the time for ethical considerations, safety, and responsible AI is NOW. The sessions on Responsible AI were particularly insightful. Our COO, Ross MacKay spoke on creating AI-enabled change ethically, responsibly and through governance while maintaining full compliance with upcoming AI regulations. AI Summit in London is an amazing event - arguably the best one outside of the US. I'm excited to apply these learnings and drive impactful, responsible AI in the future.
