This Independence Day, I’m reflecting on the values that define us. Thirty-five years ago, as an eager college student from Spain, I traveled to California for an internship that changed my life. The innovative spirit embedded in HP’s DNA resonated with me. Built on strong values and driven by purpose and integrity, I knew I found a home. Inspired by our founders, I marveled at how a company started by two friends in a garage in 1939 has continued to challenge all of us to be our best selves.
That spirit is a hallmark of America, where anyone with drive, passion, and commitment has a chance to succeed— where a Spanish engineering student like me can rise higher than he ever imagined.
Part of being a good business leader is recognizing the value each of us holds, regardless of background, privilege, or origin. That’s why I am committed to making HP a place where everyone is valued for who they are, and where unity and collaboration drive the innovation that is core to the idea of America itself.
From my family to yours, happy #4thofJuly!
