2014 - 2017
RE100 launches at Climate Week NYC in 2014 with its first global members. Within the first two years the campaign welcomed international brands like Apple, Nike, Google and RICOH to its membership.
By 2017, RE100 was partnering with JCLP in Japan - a partnership that continues to this day - expanding our work in Asia
2017-2019
RE100's global reach expands as it helps found the RE-Source platform in Europe, and establishes partnerships in Taiwan, Australia and South Korea. By the end of 2019 over 150 international companies have joined RE100.
2020-2022
By 2020 RE100 has become a byword for renewable electricity in Asia, with the campaign being discussed in Japan's Covid-19 stimulus package and prompting the Korean government to widen its corporate renewable purchasing options under its own K-RE100 policy.
The campaign hit a new milestone in 2021 with total member electricity consumption surpassing that of the UK - all committed to being 100% renewable by 2050 at the very latest.
2022-2024
RE100 deepens its policy work as it works to remove the barriers to corporate renewable electricity sourcing. Local policy recommendations are launched in South Korea and Japan
The campaign continues to grow, both in membership size, surpassing 400 companies, but also in geographical scope as RE100 launches with local partnerships in Indonesia and Argentina.
