Heavy rainfall in Ajmer, Bhilwara districts, Ana Sagar Lake overflows
Ajmer: The district witnessed heavy rains since Friday morning, and all the rivulets are brimming with water. Ana Sagar Lake overflowed, and water entered the link road, flooding nearby colonies. Various localities in the city faced flood-like situations.
Ajmer district collector announced holidays in all schools in the district for Sept 7 and 8. Similarly, there were heavy rains reported in Pushkar, Beawar, Nasirabad, Kekri and surrounding regions.
In Pushkar, the sarovar overflowed, and water spilled out into the town. In Nasirabad, water entered houses in Lohar Basti.
Bhilwara also witnessed heavy rains, and water overflowed under many bridges. It has been raining for the last 24 hours with very heavy spells in between. Low-lying areas in the city were flooded.
Water is being released from Foysagar Lake to Bandi River which has resulted in waterlogging in many societies of Ajmer. The rivulet on Hatudi Road is overflowing after 45 years. Water covered the main roads, causing traffic jams. Seasonal rivers were overflowing in Pisanghan block, resulting in destruction of crops in several villages. Roadways buses were delayed because of the rains, and Jaipur-Ajmer highway witnessed traffic jams. In Ajmer, water reached Hujjjar Dharti, Sunhari Colony, Nagra, and other regions as the channels of Anasagar overflowed because three gates of the lake were opened.
In Bhilwara, Subash Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Kotwali, and other areas faced waterlogging. Water was flowing to the rivers in Bisalpur. In Pushkar, water flowed in from Nag Hills, resulting in several waterfalls.
