Court accepts chargesheet against Darshan and gang
Bengaluru: The 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court Monday accepted the 3,991-page chargesheet filed by Kamakshipalya police against actor Darshan, his friend Pavithra Gowda and 15 others.
Though investigation is almost complete in the case, police informed the court that further probe is under way and sought permission to file an additional chargesheet under Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) Section 173 (8) if they find vital information or evidence which will help them make the case stronger.

The ACMM court will transfer the case to the sessions court after giving a CC number to the case as the magistrate court cannot conduct trials of murder cases.
Renukaswamy was allegedly kidnapped from Chitradurga and killed by Darshan and his gang on June 8 in Pattanagere parking yard, Bengaluru, following obscene messages he had reportedly sent to Pavithra through Instagram.
Once the case is transferred to the sessions court, Darshan and 16 other accused can file a bail petition. If the sessions court rejects bail, the accused can approach high court.
