In the third case, there is no allegation of rape, and it is regarding the circulation of videos wherein the petitioner has also been accused. There is a stay granted to other accused with regards to the offence and the petitioner is a victim in the case.
"He (Prajwal) has been in custody since May 30. We are grounded in the state. The damage is done. The entire family had to endure the backlash," Navadgi submitted.
On the other hand, senior advocate Prof Ravivarma Kumar, the special public prosecutor appearing for the SIT investigating the cases, opposed the petitions by stating that the petitioner is a "flight risk". He told the court that the petitioner had absconded after the registration of the crime and came back after more than a month.
On the delay, he submitted that the petitioner was constantly threatening the victim who has given details of it.
