Kozhikode: National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NITC), said in a statement that the institute was shocked to witness the incidents of physical assault on faculties of the institute by their own students, within the campus on March 22.
"The institute strongly condemns this deplorable action by a few rogue students. We wish to state here that the faculties involved are out of hospital and are safe.

This matter has been reported to the police for further investigation," the statement said.
It further said that time restriction measures were implemented with the utmost consideration for the health, safety, and academic success of the student community.
The statement said that the protest by students was not only illegal but also a violation of various laws.
"We have observed certain media reports containing misleading information regarding the incident. We wish to clarify that the director interacted with students for an extended period, addressing all their concerns during the conciliatory talks and all other allegations/reports are fabricated and baseless," the statement said. tnn
