Two-year-old kid dies after iron gate falls on him

Kasaragod: A two-year-old boy died after a five-foot-high iron gate fell on him at Mangad in Udma panchayat on Wednesday. Abu Thahir, the son of Mahin Rafi and Raima of Thekkekkarayil House in Pallam, was playing with other children at a relative's house when the incident occurred.
Rafi, who was scheduled to return to Dubai, where he has been working, on Friday, had visited the relative's house with his family for a farewell visit.The sliding gate, which had become unstable after coming off its track, collapsed when one of the children accidentally bumped into it. Although Abu Thahir did not appear to have any external injuries, he began vomiting. He was taken to a nearby private hospital but was declared dead upon arrival, according to the police.
Abu Thahir, who had celebrated his second birthday in May, was the only child of Mahin Rafi and Raima.
