ABSTRACT
Within the framework of social norms and within the restrictions of the thinking mechanisms-based on binary oppositions- being a black, a non-Christian, a homosexual, or leading an alternative life is a queer or a weird thing to do. Is it the case in real life, or are the homosexuals very different from the heterosexuals? Jane Chambers in her play, namely in Eye of the Gull depicts some scenes from the daily lives of the lesbians. Thus, the aim of this paper is to analyse the lesbian couples in Chambers’ Eye of the Gull (1971) and to hold a mirror to their problems and happinesses by making a close reading of the play.
