Hierher gehören Wörter wie Polygamie f. ‘Ehegemeinschaft mit mehreren Partnern, Vielehe’, speziell ‘eheliche Verbindung mit mehreren Frauen, Vielweiberei’ (Mitte 16. Jh.), griech. polygamía (πολυγαμία) ‘öftere Heirat, Vielmännerei, Vielweiberei’, zu griech. polýgamos (πολύγαμος) ‘viel und oft verheiratet, mehrere Männer oder Frauen gleichzeitig habend’; vgl. griech. gámos (γάμος) ‘Hochzeit, Ehe, Beischlaf’, zu griech. gamé͞in (γαμεῖν) ‘heiraten’.
