Families should be safe spaces for all. 😢But that’s not the case for millions of women and girls around the world. More than 133 women or girls are killed every day by someone in their own family. 👇Get the FACTS👇 https://lnkd.in/d-Zg8g4b

This heartbreaking reality reminds us how far we still have to go in creating truly safe environments for women and girls. Families should be the cornerstone of support and love, yet for too many, they are places of fear and violence. We must continue to raise awareness, advocate for stronger protections, and invest in prevention efforts to end this epidemic of gender-based violence. No woman or girl should ever feel unsafe in her own home. It’s time for collective action to turn this painful statistic into a call for change, ensuring safety and dignity for all.

And these are numbers we are aware of! There will be sadly so many more. The spouses we choose can really have a devastating effect on our lives. Education is key and continuing to call out DA and V at every turn.

This figure is so saddening and tragic! Home should be warm and welcoming. We hope that all this can change one day.

So true. Sometimes we tend to judge a situation by our own experience and wrongly assumed that if our families were our safety haven then it's alike for others. Domestic violence is the proof that this is untrue. And abuse on children are most often perpetrated by family members. We should be careful about telling people that family is family no matter what.

While family is often seen as a sanctuary, it can also be a source of harm for women and young girls. We must recognize that safety isn’t guaranteed by proximity, but by respect and support. It’s crucial to foster environments—both within and outside the family—where women and girls feel valued, heard, and protected. Awareness and action can turn the tide towards true security and empowerment.

This is heartbreaking and unacceptable. Every woman and girl deserves to feel safe and loved within their own home. It's a reminder that we must continue to raise awareness, speak out, and fight for the safety and protection of women and girls everywhere. No one should live in fear in their own family. UN Women

Home should be where women find peace and comfort, it shouldn't be an unsafe zone. It shouldn't be a place of fear and discomfort.

We seem to not focus on Safety but speaking about abuse non-stop. What are the references for Safe Spaces? Define it. Allow women to access it. The girl child that was not protected and shown any worth cannot offer that to her children unless she's very conscious and makes every effort to make decisions that require self-belief.

Very sad to keep reading about the high numbers and little is done by the government to support safe houses. 😢

How many NYC government corrupt politicians and employees funded PPP loans to companies to commit cr*mes against families to force women into marriage?
