This report introduces FunAudioLLM, a model family designed to enhance natural voice interactions between humans and large language models (LLMs). At its core are two innovative models: SenseVoice, which handles multilingual speech recognition, emotion recognition, and audio event detection; and CosyVoice, which facilitates natural speech generation with control over multiple languages, timbre, speaking style, and speaker identity. SenseVoice-Small delivers exceptionally low-latency ASR for 5 languages, and SenseVoice-Large supports high-precision ASR for over 50 languages, while CosyVoice excels in multi-lingual voice generation, zero-shot in-context learning, cross-lingual voice cloning, and instruction-following capabilities. The models related to SenseVoice and CosyVoice have been open-sourced on Modelscope and Huggingface, along with the corresponding training, inference, and fine-tuning codes released on GitHub. By integrating these models with LLMs, FunAudioLLM enables applications such as speech-to-speech translation, emotional voice chat, interactive podcasts, and expressive audiobook narration, thereby pushing the boundaries of voice interaction technology. Demos are available at https://fun-audio-llm.github.io, and the code can be accessed at https://github.com/FunAudioLLM.

The study on the entanglement polygon inequality of multipartite systems has attracted much attention. However, most of the results are on pure states. Here we consider the property for a class of mixed states, which are the reduced density matrices of generalized W-class states in multipartite higher dimensional systems. First we show the class of mixed states satisfies the entanglement polygon inequalities in terms of Tsallis-q entanglement, then we propose a class of tighter inequalities for mixed states in terms of Tsallis-q entanglement. At last, we get an inequality for the mixed states, which can be regarded as a relation for bipartite entanglement.

This paper is concerned with the large time behavior of the solutions to the Cauchy problem for the one-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes/Allen-Cahn system with the immiscible two-phase flow initially located near the phase separation state. Under the assumptions that the initial data is a small perturbation of the constant state, we prove the global existence and uniqueness of the solutions and establish the time decay rates of the solution as well as its higher-order spatial derivatives. Moreover, we derive that the solutions of the system are time asymptotically approximated by the solutions of the modified parabolic system and obtain decay rates in $L^2$ and $L^1$. Furthermore, we show that the solution of the system is time asymptotically approximated in $L^p (1 \leq p \leq+\infty)$ by the diffusion waves.

The branching fractions of the two decays $J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η(η\to γγ)$ and $J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η(η\to π^+ π^- π^0)$ are measured individually to be $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η(η\to γγ)) = (1.480 \pm 0.001 \pm 0.024)\times\,10^{-3}$ and $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η(η\to π^+ π^- π^0)) = (1.557 \pm 0.003 \pm 0.038)\times\,10^{-3}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Both results are compatible within their uncorrelated systematic uncertainties. The combined result is $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η)=(1.495 \pm 0.001 \pm 0.023)\times\,10^{-3}$ where the first uncertainty is the combined statistical uncertainty and the second one the combined systematic uncertainty of both analyses, incorporating correlations between them. In addition, the $p \bar{p}$ threshold region is investigated for a potential threshold enhancement, and no evidence for one is observed.

Recent advancements underscore the critical need to develop ferroelectric materials compatible with silicon. We systematically explore possible ferroelectric silicon quantum films and discover a low-energy variant (hex-OR-2*2-P) with energy just 1 meV/atom above the ground state (hex-OR-2*2). Both hex-OR-2*2 and hex-OR-2*2-P are confirmed to be dynamically and mechanically stable semiconductors with indirect gaps of 1.323 eV and 1.311 eV, respectively. The ferroelectric hex-OR-2*2-P exhibits remarkable in-plane spontaneous polarization up to 120 Pc/m and is protected by a potential barrier (13.33 meV/atom) from spontaneously transitioning to hex-OR-22. To simulate the switching ferroelectricity in electric fields of the single-element silicon bilayer, we develop a method that simultaneously learns interatomic potentials and Born effective charges (BEC) in a single equivariant model with a physically informed loss. Our method demonstrates good performance on several ferroelectrics. Simulations of hex-OR-2*2-P silicon suggest a depolarization temperature of approximately 300 K and a coercive field of about 0.05 V/Å. These results indicate that silicon-based ferroelectric devices are feasible, and the ground state phase of the silicon bilayer (hex-OR-2*2) is an ideal system. Our findings highlight the promise of pure silicon ferroelectric materials for future experimental synthesis and applications in memory devices, sensors, and energy converters.

Deep Gaussian Processes (DGPs) leverage a compositional structure to model non-stationary processes. DGPs typically rely on local inducing point approximations across intermediate GP layers. Recent advances in DGP inference have shown that incorporating global Fourier features from Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Space (RKHS) can enhance the DGPs' capability to capture complex non-stationary patterns. This paper extends the use of these features to compositional GPs involving linear transformations. In particular, we introduce Ordinary Differential Equation (ODE) -based RKHS Fourier features that allow for adaptive amplitude and phase modulation through convolution operations. This convolutional formulation relates our work to recently proposed deep latent force models, a multi-layer structure designed for modelling nonlinear dynamical systems. By embedding these adjustable RKHS Fourier features within a doubly stochastic variational inference framework, our model exhibits improved predictive performance across various regression tasks.

The dependence of the sources and properties of the near-Earth solar wind on solar cycle activity is an important issue in solar and space physics. We use the improved two-step mapping procedure that takes into account the initial acceleration processes to trace the near-Earth solar winds back to their source regions from 1999 to 2020, covering solar cycles (SCs) 23 and 24. Then the solar wind is categorized into coronal hole (CH), active region (AR), and quiet Sun (QS) solar wind based on the source region types. We find that the proportions of CH and AR (QS) wind during SC 23 are higher (lower) than those during SC 24. During solar maximum and declining phases, the magnetic field strength, speed, helium abundance (AHe), and charge states of all three types of solar wind during SC 23 are generally higher than those during SC 24. During solar minimum, these parameters of solar wind are generally lower during SC 23 than those during SC 24. There is a significant decrease in the charge states of all three types of solar wind during the solar minimum of SC 23. The present statistical results demonstrate that the sources and properties of the solar wind are both influenced by solar cycle amplitude. The temperatures of AR, QS, and CH regions exhibit significant difference at low altitudes, whereas they are almost uniform at high altitudes.

Uncertainty quantification (UQ) in natural language generation (NLG) tasks remains an open challenge, exacerbated by the intricate nature of the recent large language models (LLMs). This study investigates adapting conformal prediction (CP), which can convert any heuristic measure of uncertainty into rigorous theoretical guarantees by constructing prediction sets, for black-box LLMs in open-ended NLG tasks. We propose a sampling-based uncertainty measure leveraging self-consistency and develop a conformal uncertainty criterion by integrating the uncertainty condition aligned with correctness into the design of the CP algorithm. Experimental results indicate that our uncertainty measure generally surpasses prior state-of-the-art methods. Furthermore, we calibrate the prediction sets within the model's unfixed answer distribution and achieve strict control over the correctness coverage rate across 6 LLMs on 4 free-form NLG datasets, spanning general-purpose and medical domains, while the small average set size further highlights the efficiency of our method in providing trustworthy guarantees for practical open-ended NLG applications.

We show that spontaneous density segregation in dense systems of aligning circle swimmers is a condensation phenomenon at odds with the phase separation scenarios usually observed in two-dimensional active matter. The condensates, which take the form of vortices or rotating polar packets, can absorb a finite fraction of the particles in the system, and keep a finite or slowly growing size as their mass increases. Our results are obtained both at particle and continuous levels. We consider both ferromagnetic and nematic alignment, and both identical and disordered chiralities. Condensation implies synchronization, even though our systems are in 2D and bear strictly local interactions. We propose a phenomenological theory based on observed mechanisms that accounts qualitatively for our results.

Recent studies have revealed that vision transformers (ViTs) face similar security risks from adversarial attacks as deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs). However, directly applying attack methodology on CNNs to ViTs has been demonstrated to be ineffective since the ViTs typically work on patch-wise encoding. This article explores the vulnerability of ViTs against adversarial attacks under a black-box scenario, and proposes a novel query-efficient hard-label adversarial attack method called AdvViT. Specifically, considering that ViTs are highly sensitive to patch modification, we propose to optimize the adversarial perturbation on the individual patches. To reduce the dimension of perturbation search space, we modify only a handful of low-frequency components of each patch. Moreover, we design a weight mask matrix for all patches to further optimize the perturbation on different regions of a whole image. We test six mainstream ViT backbones on the ImageNet-1k dataset. Experimental results show that compared with the state-of-the-art attacks on CNNs, our AdvViT achieves much lower $L_2$-norm distortion under the same query budget, sufficiently validating the vulnerability of ViTs against adversarial attacks.

Gradients play a pivotal role in neural networks explanation. The inherent high dimensionality and structural complexity of neural networks result in the original gradients containing a significant amount of noise. While several approaches were proposed to reduce noise with smoothing, there is little discussion of the rationale behind smoothing gradients in neural networks. In this work, we proposed a gradient smooth theoretical framework for neural networks based on the function mollification and Monte Carlo integration. The framework intrinsically axiomatized gradient smoothing and reveals the rationale of existing methods. Furthermore, we provided an approach to design new smooth methods derived from the framework. By experimental measurement of several newly designed smooth methods, we demonstrated the research potential of our framework.

Approximate K Nearest Neighbor (AKNN) algorithms play a pivotal role in various AI applications, including information retrieval, computer vision, and natural language processing. Although numerous AKNN algorithms and benchmarks have been developed recently to evaluate their effectiveness, the dynamic nature of real-world data presents significant challenges that existing benchmarks fail to address. Traditional benchmarks primarily assess retrieval effectiveness in static contexts and often overlook update efficiency, which is crucial for handling continuous data ingestion. This limitation results in an incomplete assessment of an AKNN algorithms ability to adapt to changing data patterns, thereby restricting insights into their performance in dynamic environments. To address these gaps, we introduce CANDY, a benchmark tailored for Continuous Approximate Nearest Neighbor Search with Dynamic Data Ingestion. CANDY comprehensively assesses a wide range of AKNN algorithms, integrating advanced optimizations such as machine learning-driven inference to supplant traditional heuristic scans, and improved distance computation methods to reduce computational overhead. Our extensive evaluations across diverse datasets demonstrate that simpler AKNN baselines often surpass more complex alternatives in terms of recall and latency. These findings challenge established beliefs about the necessity of algorithmic complexity for high performance. Furthermore, our results underscore existing challenges and illuminate future research opportunities. A basic descriptive question in statistics often asks whether there are differences in mean outcomes between groups based on levels of a discrete covariate (e.g., racial disparities in health outcomes). However, when this categorical covariate of interest is correlated with other factors related to the outcome, direct comparisons may lead to biased estimates and invalid inferential conclusions without appropriate adjustment. Propensity score methods are broadly employed with observational data as a tool to achieve covariate balance, but how to implement them in complex surveys is less studied - in particular, when the survey weights depend on the group variable under comparison. In this work, we focus on a specific example when sample selection depends on race. We propose identification formulas to properly estimate the average controlled difference (ACD) in outcomes between Black and White individuals, with appropriate weighting for covariate imbalance across the two racial groups and generalizability. Via extensive simulation, we show that our proposed methods outperform traditional analytic approaches in terms of bias, mean squared error, and coverage. We are motivated by the interplay between race and social determinants of health when estimating racial differences in telomere length using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. We build a propensity for race to properly adjust for other social determinants while characterizing the controlled effect of race on telomere length. We find that evidence of racial differences in telomere length between Black and White individuals attenuates after accounting for confounding by socioeconomic factors and after utilizing appropriate propensity score and survey weighting techniques. Software to implement these methods can be found in the R package svycdiff at https://github.com/salernos/svycdiff.

By fitting the dressed cross sections of $e^+e^-\to K^-\barΞ^+Λ/Σ^{0}$, evidence for $ψ(4160) \to K^{-}\barΞ^{+}Λ$ is found for the first time with a significance of 4.4$σ$, including systematic uncertainties. No evidence for other possible resonances is found. In addition, the products of electronic partial width and branching fraction for all assumed resonances decaying into $K^{-}\barΞ^{+}Λ/Σ^{0}$ are determined.

A global reconfiguration of the magnetotail characterizes substorms. Current sheet thinning, intensification, and magnetic field stretching are defining features of the substorm growth phase and their spatial distributions control the timing and location of substorm onset. Presently, sparse in-situ observations cannot resolve these distributions. A promising approach is to use new substorm magnetic field reconstruction methods based on data mining, termed SST19. Here we compare the SST19 reconstructions to low-altitude ELFIN measurements of energetic particle precipitations to probe the radial profile of the equatorial magnetic field curvature during a 19~August 2022 substorm. ELFIN and SST19 yield a consistent dynamical picture of the magnetotail during the growth phase and capture expected features such as the formation of a thin current sheet and its earthward motion. Furthermore, they resolve a V-like pattern of isotropic electron precipitation boundaries in the time-energy plane, consistent with earlier observations but now over a broad energy range.

Recently, both closed-source LLMs and open-source communities have made significant strides, outperforming humans in various general domains. However, their performance in specific professional fields such as medicine, especially within the open-source community, remains suboptimal due to the complexity of medical knowledge. We propose Aquila-Med, a bilingual medical LLM based on Aquila, addressing these challenges through continue pre-training, supervised fine-tuning (SFT), and reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF). We construct a large-scale Chinese and English medical dataset for continue pre-training and a high-quality SFT dataset, covering extensive medical specialties. Additionally, we develop a high-quality Direct Preference Optimization (DPO) dataset for further alignment. Aquila-Med achieves notable results across single-turn, multi-turn dialogues, and medical multiple-choice questions, demonstrating the effectiveness of our approach. We open-source the datasets and the entire training process, contributing valuable resources to the research community. Our models and datasets will released at https://huggingface.co/BAAI/AquilaMed-RL.

Accurate and transparent financial information disclosure is crucial in the fields of accounting and finance, ensuring market efficiency and investor confidence. Among many information disclosure platforms, the Chinese stock exchanges' investor interactive platform provides a novel and interactive way for listed firms to disclose information of interest to investors through an online question-and-answer (Q&A) format. However, it is common for listed firms to respond to questions with limited or no substantive information, and automatically evaluating the quality of financial information disclosure on large amounts of Q&A pairs is challenging. This paper builds a benchmark FinTruthQA, that can evaluate advanced natural language processing (NLP) techniques for the automatic quality assessment of information disclosure in financial Q&A data. FinTruthQA comprises 6,000 real-world financial Q&A entries and each Q&A was manually annotated based on four conceptual dimensions of accounting. We benchmarked various NLP techniques on FinTruthQA, including statistical machine learning models, pre-trained language model and their fine-tuned versions, as well as the large language model GPT-4. Experiments showed that existing NLP models have strong predictive ability for real question identification and question relevance tasks, but are suboptimal for answer relevance and answer readability tasks. By establishing this benchmark, we provide a robust foundation for the automatic evaluation of information disclosure, significantly enhancing the transparency and quality of financial reporting. FinTruthQA can be used by auditors, regulators, and financial analysts for real-time monitoring and data-driven decision-making, as well as by researchers for advanced studies in accounting and finance, ultimately fostering greater trust and efficiency in the financial markets.

Expected to provide higher transportation efficiency and security, autonomous driving has attracted substantial attentions from both industry and academia. Meanwhile, the emergence of edge intelligence has further introduced significant advancements to this field. However, the crucial demands of ultra-reliable and low-latency communications (URLLC) among the vehicles and edge servers have hindered the development of autonomous driving. In this article, we provide a brief overview of edge intelligence enabled autonomous driving system and current vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technologies. Moreover, challenges associated with massive data transmission in autonomous driving are highlighted from three perspectives: multi-modal data transmission and fusion, multi-user collaboration and connection, and multi-task training and execution. To cope with these challenges, we propose to incorporate semantic communication into autonomous driving to achieve highly efficient and task-oriented data transmission. Unlike traditional communications, semantic communication extracts task-relevant semantic feature from multi-sensory data. Specifically, a unified multi-user semantic communication system for transmitting multi-modal data and performing multi-task execution is designed for collaborative data transmission and decision making in autonomous driving. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed system can significantly reduce data transmission volume without compromising task performance, as evidenced by the realization of a cooperative multi-vehicle target classification and detection task.

In this paper, we study an optimal mean-variance investment-reinsurance problem for an insurer (she) under a Cramér-Lundberg model with random coefficients. At any time, the insurer can purchase reinsurance or acquire new business and invest her surplus in a security market consisting of a risk-free asset and multiple risky assets, subject to a general convex cone investment constraint. We reduce the problem to a constrained stochastic linear-quadratic control problem with jumps whose solution is related to a system of partially coupled stochastic Riccati equations (SREs). Then we devote ourselves to establishing the existence and uniqueness of solutions to the SREs by pure backward stochastic differential equation (BSDE) techniques. We achieve this with the help of approximation procedure, comparison theorems for BSDEs with jumps, log transformation and BMO martingales. The efficient investment-reinsurance strategy and efficient mean-variance frontier are explicitly given through the solutions of the SREs, which are shown to be a linear feedback form of the wealth process and a half-line, respectively.

Speech decoding from EEG signals is a challenging task, where brain activity is modeled to estimate salient characteristics of acoustic stimuli. We propose FESDE, a novel framework for Fully-End-to-end Speech Decoding from EEG signals. Our approach aims to directly reconstruct listened speech waveforms given EEG signals, where no intermediate acoustic feature processing step is required. The proposed method consists of an EEG module and a speech module along with a connector. The EEG module learns to better represent EEG signals, while the speech module generates speech waveforms from model representations. The connector learns to bridge the distributions of the latent spaces of EEG and speech. The proposed framework is both simple and efficient, by allowing single-step inference, and outperforms prior works on objective metrics. A fine-grained phoneme analysis is conducted to unveil model characteristics of speech decoding. The source code is available here: github.com/lee-jhwn/fesde.

The branching fraction of the decay $η_{c}(1S) \to 2(π^{+}π^{-})η$, which is found to have a strong dependence on the interference pattern between $η_c(1S)$ and non-$η_c(1S)$ processes, is measured in both destructive and constructive interference scenarios for the first time. The mass and width of the $η_{c}(1S)$ are measured to be $M=(2984.14 \pm 0.13 \pm 0.38)$ MeV/$c^{2}$ and $Γ=(28.82 \pm 0.11 \pm 0.82)$ MeV, respectively. Clear signals for the decays of the $χ_{cJ}(J=0,1,2)$ and the $η_{c}(2S)$ to $2(π^{+}π^{-})η$ are also observed for the first time, and the corresponding branching fractions are measured. The ratio of the branching fractions between the $η_{c}(2S)$ and $η_{c}(1S)$ decays is significantly lower than the theoretical prediction, which might suggest different dynamics in their decays.

We present measurements of the branching fractions of eight $\overline B{}^0\to D^{(*)+} K^- K^{(*)0}_{(S)}$, $B^{-}\to D^{(*)0} K^- K^{(*)0}_{(S)}$ decay channels. The results are based on data from SuperKEKB electron-positron collisions at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance collected with the Belle II detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $362~\text{fb}^{-1}$. The event yields are extracted from fits to the distributions of the difference between expected and observed $B$ meson energy, and are efficiency-corrected as a function of $m(K^-K^{(*)0}_{(S)})$ and $m(D^{(*)}K^{(*)0}_{(S)})$ in order to avoid dependence on the decay model. These results include the first observation of $\overline B{}^0\to D^+K^-K_S^0$, $B^-\to D^{*0}K^-K_S^0$, and $\overline B{}^0\to D^{*+}K^-K_S^0$ decays and a significant improvement in the precision of the other channels compared to previous measurements. The helicity-angle distributions and the invariant mass distributions of the $K^- K^{(*)0}_{(S)}$ systems are compatible with quasi-two-body decays via a resonant transition with spin-parity $J^P=1^-$ for the $K^-K_S^0$ systems and $J^P= 1^+$ for the $K^-K^{*0}$ systems. We also present measurements of the branching fractions of four $\overline B{}^0\to D^{(*)+} D_s^-$, $B^{-}\to D^{(*)0} D_s^- $ decay channels with a precision compatible to the current world averages.

The weak-$CP$ test is performed in the subsequent decays of their daughter particles $Λ$ and $\barΛ$. Also for the first time, the transverse polarizations of the $Σ^0$ hyperons in $J/ψ$ and $ψ(3686)$ decays are observed with opposite directions, and the ratios between the S-wave and D-wave contributions of the $J/ψ, ψ(3686) \to Σ^0 \barΣ^{0}$ decays are obtained. These results are crucial to understand the decay dynamics of the charmonium states and the production mechanism of the $Σ^0-\barΣ^0$ pairs.

We present a study of $Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{0}π^{0}$, $Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{0}η$, and $Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{0}η^{\prime}$ decays using the Belle and Belle~II data samples, which have integrated luminosities of 980~$\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ and 426~$\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$, respectively. We measure the following relative branching fractions $${\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{0}π^{0})/{\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{-}π^{+}) = 0.48 \pm 0.02 ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.03 ({\rm syst}) ,$$ $${\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{0}η)/{\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{-}π^{+}) = 0.11 \pm 0.01 ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.01 ({\rm syst}) ,$$ $${\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{0}η^{\prime})/{\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{-}π^{+}) = 0.08 \pm 0.02 ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.01 ({\rm syst}) $$ for the first time, where the uncertainties are statistical ($\rm stat$) and systematic ($\rm syst$). By multiplying by the branching fraction of the normalization mode, ${\mathcal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{-}π^{+})$, we obtain the following absolute branching fraction results $(6.9 \pm 0.3 ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.5 ({\rm syst}) \pm 1.3 ({\rm norm})) \times 10^{-3}$, $(1.6 \pm 0.2 ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.2 ({\rm syst}) \pm 0.3 ({\rm norm})) \times 10^{-3}$, and $(1.2 \pm 0.3 ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.1 ({\rm syst}) \pm 0.2 ({\rm norm})) \times 10^{-3}$, for $Ξ_{c}^{0}$ decays to $Ξ^{0}π^{0}$, $Ξ^{0}η$, and $Ξ^{0}η^{\prime}$ final states, respectively. The third errors are from the uncertainty on ${\mathcal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{-}π^{+})$. The asymmetry parameter for $Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{0}π^{0}$ is measured to be $α(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{0}π^{0}) = -0.90\pm0.15({\rm stat})\pm0.23({\rm syst})$.

CO$_2$ capture using carbon-based materials, particularly graphene and graphene-like materials, is a promising strategy to deal with CO$_2$ emissions. However, significant gaps remain in our understanding of the molecular-level interaction between CO$_2$ molecules and graphene, particularly, in terms of chemical bonding and electron transfer. In this work, we employ random structure search and density functional theory to understand the adsorption of CO$_2$ molecules on Ca, Sr, Na, K, and Ti decorated graphene surfaces. Compared to the pristine material, we observe enhanced CO$_2$ adsorption on the decorated graphene surfaces. Particularly on group 2 metals and titanium decorated graphene, CO$_2$ can be strongly chemisorbed as a bent CO$_2$ anion or as an oxalate, depending on the number of CO$_2$ molecules. Electronic structure analysis reveals the adsorption mechanism to involve an ionic charge transfer from the metal adatom to the adsorbed CO$_2$. Overall, this study suggests that reducing CO$_2$ to oxalate on group 2 metals and titanium metal-decorated graphene surfaces is a potential strategy for CO$_2$ storage.

Code Pre-trained Models (CodePTMs) based vulnerability detection have achieved promising results over recent years. However, these models struggle to generalize as they typically learn superficial mapping from source code to labels instead of understanding the root causes of code vulnerabilities, resulting in poor performance in real-world scenarios beyond the training instances. To tackle this challenge, we introduce VulLLM, a novel framework that integrates multi-task learning with Large Language Models (LLMs) to effectively mine deep-seated vulnerability features. Specifically, we construct two auxiliary tasks beyond the vulnerability detection task. First, we utilize the vulnerability patches to construct a vulnerability localization task. Second, based on the vulnerability features extracted from patches, we leverage GPT-4 to construct a vulnerability interpretation task. VulLLM innovatively augments vulnerability classification by leveraging generative LLMs to understand complex vulnerability patterns, thus compelling the model to capture the root causes of vulnerabilities rather than overfitting to spurious features of a single task. The experiments conducted on six large datasets demonstrate that VulLLM surpasses seven state-of-the-art models in terms of effectiveness, generalization, and robustness.

This paper concerns a continuous time mean-variance (MV) portfolio selection problem in a jump-diffusion financial model with no-shorting trading constraint. The problem is reduced to two subproblems: solving a stochastic linear-quadratic (LQ) control problem under control constraint, and finding a maximal point of a real function. Based on a two-dimensional fully coupled ordinary differential equation (ODE), we construct an explicit viscosity solution to the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation of the constrained LQ problem. Together with the Meyer-Itô formula and a verification procedure, we obtain the optimal feedback controls of the constrained LQ problem and the original MV problem, which corrects the flawed results in some existing literatures. In addition, closed-form efficient portfolio and efficient frontier are derived. In the end, we present several examples where the two-dimensional ODE is decoupled.

Evidences for $h_c \to K^+ K^- π^0$ and $h_c \to K^+ K^- η$ are found with significances of $3.5σ$ and $3.3σ$, respectively, after considering the systematic uncertainties. The branching fractions of these decays are measured to be $\mathcal{B}(h_c \to π^+ π^- π^0)=(1.36\pm0.16\pm0.14)\times10^{-3}$, $\mathcal{B}(h_c \to K^+ K^- π^0)=(3.26\pm0.84\pm0.36)\times10^{-4}$, and $\mathcal{B}(h_c \to K^+ K^- η)=(3.13\pm1.08\pm0.38)\times10^{-4}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. No significant signal of $h_c\toπ^+π^-η$ is found, and the upper limit of its decay branching fraction is determined to be $\mathcal{B}(h_c\toπ^+π^-η) < 4.0 \times 10^{-4}$ at 90% confidence level.

This system is an important mathematical model for describing the motion of immiscible two-phase flow. The results show that, if the initial density and velocity are near the superposition of two shock waves in the same family, then there exists a unique global solution to the compressible Navier-Stokes/Allen-Cahn system, and this solution asymptotically converges to the superposition of the viscous shock wave and rarefaction wave which moving in opposite directions. Moreover, this global-in-time solution converges to the entropy solution of $p$-system in $L^\infty$-norm as the thickness of the diffusion interface tends to zero.

Expanding Thurston maps were introduced by M. Bonk and D. Meyer with motivation from complex dynamics and Cannon's conjecture from geometric group theory via Sullivan's dictionary. In this paper, we show that the entropy map of an expanding Thurston map is upper semi-continuous if and only if the map has no periodic critical points. For all expanding Thurston maps, even in the presence of periodic critical points, we show that ergodic measures are entropy-dense and establish level-2 large deviation principles for the distribution of Birkhoff averages, periodic points, and iterated preimages. It follows that iterated preimages and periodic points are equidistributed with respect to the unique equilibrium state for an expanding Thurston map and a potential that is Hölder continuous with respect to a visual metric on $S^2$. In particular, our results answer two questions in [Li15].
The main technical tools in this paper are called subsystems of expanding Thurston maps, inspired by a translation of the notion of subgroups via Sullivan's dictionary.

Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) and Likelihood Ratio Test (LRT) are widely used methods for estimating the transition probability matrix in Markov chains and identifying significant relationships between transitions, such as equality. However, the estimated transition probability matrix derived from MLE lacks accuracy compared to the real one, and LRT is inefficient in high-dimensional Markov chains. In this study, we extended the adaptive Lasso technique from linear models to Markov chains and proposed a novel model by applying penalized maximum likelihood estimation to optimize the estimation of the transition probability matrix. Meanwhile, we demonstrated that the new model enjoys oracle properties, which means the estimated transition probability matrix has the same performance as the real one when given. Simulations show that our new method behave very well overall in comparison with various competitors. Real data analysis further convince the value of our proposed method.

Calculating sublimation enthalpies of molecular crystal polymorphs is relevant to a wide range of technological applications. However, predicting these quantities at first-principles accuracy -- even with the aid of machine learning potentials -- is a challenge that requires sub-kJ/mol accuracy in the potential energy surface and finite-temperature sampling. We present an accurate and data-efficient protocol based on fine-tuning of the foundational MACE-MP-0 model and showcase its capabilities on sublimation enthalpies and physical properties of ice polymorphs. Our approach requires only a few tens of training structures to achieve sub-kJ/mol accuracy in the sublimation enthalpies and sub 1 % error in densities for polymorphs at finite temperature and pressure. Exploiting this data efficiency, we explore simulations of hexagonal ice at the random phase approximation level of theory at experimental temperatures and pressures, calculating its physical properties, like pair correlation function and density, with good agreement with experiments. Our approach provides a way forward for predicting the stability of molecular crystals at finite thermodynamic conditions with the accuracy of correlated electronic structure theory.

Expert-designed close-ended benchmarks serve as vital tools in assessing the knowledge capacity of large language models (LLMs). Despite their widespread use, concerns have mounted regarding their reliability due to limited test scenarios and an unavoidable risk of data contamination. To rectify this, we present PertEval, a toolkit devised for in-depth probing of LLMs' knowledge capacity through knowledge-invariant perturbations. These perturbations employ human-like restatement techniques to generate on-the-fly test samples from static benchmarks, meticulously retaining knowledge-critical content while altering irrelevant details. Our toolkit further includes a suite of transition analyses that compare performance on raw vs. perturbed test sets to precisely assess LLMs' genuine knowledge capacity. Six state-of-the-art LLMs are re-evaluated using PertEval. Results reveal significantly inflated performance of the LLMs on raw benchmarks, including an absolute 21% overestimation for GPT-4. Additionally, through a nuanced response pattern analysis, we discover that PertEval retains LLMs' uncertainty to specious knowledge, potentially being resolved through rote memorization and leading to inflated performance. We also find that the detailed transition analyses by PertEval could illuminate weaknesses in existing LLMs' knowledge mastery and guide the development of refinement. Given these insights, we posit that PertEval can act as an essential tool that, when applied alongside any close-ended benchmark, unveils the true knowledge capacity of LLMs, marking a significant step toward more trustworthy LLM evaluation.

We report the result of a search for the rare decay $B^{0} \to γγ$ using a combined dataset of $753\times10^{6}$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected by the Belle experiment and $387\times10^{6}$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected by the Belle II experiment from decays of the $\rm Υ(4S)$ resonance produced in $e^{+}e^{-}$ collisions. A simultaneous fit to the Belle and Belle II data sets yields $11.0^{+6.5}_{-5.5}$ signal events, corresponding to a 2.5$σ$ significance. We determine the branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(B^{0} \to γγ) = (3.7^{+2.2}_{-1.8}(\rm stat)\pm0.5(\rm syst))\times10^{-8}$ and set a 90% credibility level upper limit of $\mathcal{B}(B^{0} \to γγ) < 6.4\times10^{-8}$.

This paper presents EasyAnimate, an advanced method for video generation that leverages the power of transformer architecture for high-performance outcomes. We have expanded the DiT framework originally designed for 2D image synthesis to accommodate the complexities of 3D video generation by incorporating a motion module block. It is used to capture temporal dynamics, thereby ensuring the production of consistent frames and seamless motion transitions. The motion module can be adapted to various DiT baseline methods to generate video with different styles. It can also generate videos with different frame rates and resolutions during both training and inference phases, suitable for both images and videos. Moreover, we introduce slice VAE, a novel approach to condense the temporal axis, facilitating the generation of long duration videos. Currently, EasyAnimate exhibits the proficiency to generate videos with 144 frames. We provide a holistic ecosystem for video production based on DiT, encompassing aspects such as data pre-processing, VAE training, DiT models training (both the baseline model and LoRA model), and end-to-end video inference. Code is available at: https://github.com/aigc-apps/EasyAnimate. We are continuously working to enhance the performance of our method.

In the first $2-5$ MeV above $B^*\bar{B}{}^*$ threshold, the $e^+e^- \to B^*\bar{B}{}^*$ cross section increases rapidly. This may indicate the presence of a pole close to the threshold.

Traditional survival analysis methods often struggle with complex time-dependent data, failing to capture and interpret dynamic characteristics adequately. This study aims to evaluate the performance of three long-sequence models,LSTM,Transformer, and Mamba,in analyzing recurrence event data and integrating them with the Cox proportional hazards model. This study integrates the advantages of deep learning models for handling long-sequence data with the Cox proportional hazards model to enhance the performance in analyzing recurrent events with dynamic time information.Additionally, this study compares the ability of different models to extract and utilize features from time-dependent clinical recurrence data. The LSTM-Cox model outperformed both the Transformer-Cox and Mamba-Cox models in prediction accuracy and model fit, achieving a Concordance index of up to 0.90 on the test set.Significant predictors of bladder cancer recurrence, such as treatment stop time, maximum tumor size at recurrence and recurrence frequency, were identified. The LSTM-Cox model aligned well with clinical outcomes, effectively distinguishing between high-risk and low-risk patient groups. This study demonstrates that the LSTM-Cox model is a robust and efficient method for recurrent data analysis and feature extraction, surpassing newer models like Transformer and Mamba. It offers a practical approach for integrating deep learning technologies into clinical risk prediction systems, thereby improving patient management and treatment outcomes.
