TOKYO -- A new poll shows the approval rating for Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's cabinet holding steady from last month at 26% while the disapproval rating increased 3 percentage points to 69%, as many voters are dissatisfied with Kishida's handling of a party funding scandal.

The disapproval rating was the highest since Kishida's inauguration in October 2021. The poll was conducted by Nikkei and broadcaster TV Tokyo from Monday to Tuesday.
