How can you effectively differentiate your product to align with your business goals?
Figuring out the 'right' customers to go after will make differentiation easier. Not every segment that generates revenue today matches your future strategy. Therefore pick and choose which segment(s) to focus on and then go deep in trying to understand these customers match to your offering and unmet needs. Even within a category of products with many competitors, there's plenty of room to make customers feel like your product is specifically built for them. Balancing this feeling and maintaining a view the larger segment that has growth potential is the right mix to apply when understanding customers.
