2012 Ballot Measure Election Results: Alaska

JUNEAU, Alaska: Two ballot measure were on the Alaska 2012 ballot on November 6.
Out of these 2 measures decided on by Alaskan voters, one was approved and the other was defeated.
See below for a summary of results for both of these measures.
Bonding Proposition A
This measure is a legislatively referred state statute allowing for a general obligation bond to be issued for the purpose of transportation projects in the state. The bond would not exceed $453,499,200.
According to the Alaska Secretary of State's website, Bonding Proposition A was approved with 56.57% voting yes and 43.43% voting no. Election results are not yet official, as a canvassing of the results will not be done until later this month.
Ballot Measure 1
This measure, an automatic ballot referral, would create a convention to revise, alter or amend the state constitution. The last time a constitutional convention question was on the ballot in the state was in 2002. That measure was defeated.
According to the Alaska Secretary of State's website, voters rejected Ballot Measure 1 by a fairly large margin, only 31.93% voting yes, while 68.07% voted no. Election results are not yet official, as a canvassing of the results will not be done until later this month.
