Arthur L. Smith, III is a judge on the Chattahoochee Circuit in Georgia. He was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal in November 2011 and must run for the seat in the 2012 election if he wants to continue serving.[1]
Bildung
Smith received his undergraduate degree from Columbus College, his J.D. from Samford University, and a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law.[1]
Career
Prior to his appointment to the court, Smith worked as corporate counsel for Aflac insurance for twenty-three years. He was also general counsel for the 3rd Congressional District Republican Party of Georgia.[1]

2012 election
Smith ran for re-election to the Chattahoochie Superior Court.[2] He faced challenger LaRae Dixon Moore in the July 31 election and was re-elected after receiving 53.6 percent of the vote.[3]
