Hawaii judicial elections

Judges in Hawaii do not participate in judicial elections. Instead, they are chosen via gubernatorial appointment from a nominating commission and confirmed by the Hawaii Senate. When their terms expire, a nominating commission determines whether to retain the judges.[1]
