The Kentucky Term Limit Amendment did not make the November 2012 ballot in the state of Kentucky as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. The measure would have set term limits for state legislators. More specifically the measure would have limited members of the Kentucky Senate and House to three consecutive terms. The bill would have also extended the length of each term. The proposal was introduced by State Representative Mike Nemes.[1]

Path to the ballot

If 60% of the membership of each chamber of the Kentucky General Assembly approves, a proposed amendment goes on the ballot at the next general election during which members of the state legislature are up for election.
