Krista Jass is a judge on the Fifth Judicial District in Minnesota. She was appointed by Governor Tim Pawlenty in December 2010 to replace Norbert P. Smith.[1] She won election in 2012.

Bildung

Jass received her undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1990 and her J.D. from Hamline University School of Law in 1993.[1]

Career

Jass began her legal career as a law clerk for the Fifth Judicial District from 1993 to 1994. In 1994, she became an assistant public defender in the district. Eight years later, she was named Managing Attorney in that office. In 2007, Jass became its Chief Public Defender, a position she held until joining the court in 2010.[1]

Jass ran unopposed in the general election November 6, 2012.[2] She won with 99.39% of the vote.[3]
