Madison alderpersons are currently elected to two (2) year terms. The Madison Mayor is currently elected to four (4) year terms. Beginning with the 2023 Spring Election, SHOULD City of Madison alderpersons be elected to four (4) year terms?

This advisory vote was put on the ballot by a vote of the Madison Common Council. The decision was informed by a task-force report as part of a multi-year effort to assess structural changes in the council to engage and serve Madison's residents.[1]
