The Small Business Committee is a standing committee of the Rhode Island House of Representatives.

Per Section 11 of the House Rules, committees of the Rhode Island House of Representatives are assigned by the Speaker of the House following the adoption of House Rules each January.[1][2] The Minority Leader advises the Speaker on appointing minority members to standing committees, subcommittees, joint committees, boards, and commissions.[1] The Speaker has the power to appoint the chair, vice chair, and secretary of each committee. Any vacancies that have occurred in any committees or subcommittees after members have been appointed are filled by the Speaker.[1] The Speaker, Majority Leader and Minority Leader are considered to be ex officio members with voting rights in all committees but are not counted for purposes in determining quorum.[1]
