  • 🌟Event Recap🌟 We are thrilled to share the success of the EU Knowledge Hub Radicalisation Prevention 2.0 event held on June 17, 2024, in Brussels! 🎉 With over 150 attendees the event kicked off with inspiring opening remarks from Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson , and Belgian Minister of Interior, Institutional Reform and Democratic Renewal, Annelies Verlinden . Catch them here: https://lnkd.in/dnViTMXj The day was filled with impactful discussions across four key sessions: “Strategic Perspectives: Setting the Policy Agenda”; “Addressing the Threat Posed by Lone Actors: Understanding the Main Drivers Behind Their Behavior”; “Responding to Geopolitical Developments: Revising Security Strategies in the EU” and “The Struggle for Hearts and Minds: How to Effectively Prevent the Radicalisation of Minors”. This event provided a valuable opportunity for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to collaborate and set the stage for the future of the EU Knowledge Hub. We were also excited to feature an exhibition table showcasing two innovative projects: INDEED and GEMS.   • 🌟 Exciting Announcement! 🌟 We had an amazing experience at the EU Knowledge Hub Radicalisation Prevention 2.0 event on Monday, June 17th, 2024, in Brussels for the launch of the EU Knowledge Hub! 🌍✨ We were thrilled to showcase the groundbreaking INDEED project at our exhibition table. 🔍 About INDEED: The Horizon 2020 research project INDEED (Evidence-Based Model for Evaluation of Radicalisation Prevention and Mitigation) is dedicated to enhancing the effectiveness of efforts in Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE), Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), and De-radicalisation. Our aims include: ·      Strengthening first-line practitioners’ and policy makers’ knowledge, capabilities, and skills. ·      Designing, planning, implementing, and evaluating PVE, CVE, and De-radicalisation initiatives. ·      Developing evidence-based policies, strategies, long-term programmes, short-term actions, and ad-hoc interventions related to single cases. Key actors in this area include first-line practitioners, policy makers, researchers, and all other relevant stakeholders who are essential in planning, designing, implementing and evaluating effective initiatives. 🗣️ Testimonial from Natalia Jarmużek-Troczyńska, INDEED Project Manager: " The INDEED team has put a lot of effort into providing practical tools for practitioners and policy makers, including evidence-based evaluation tool, guidebooks, repositories and training, but also into promoting a culture of evaluation, showing what evaluation and evidence-based practice is and why it is so important for the effectiveness of measures taken in this area.The project ends in September 2024, but there is still room and need to continue the activities initiated by INDEED." 📢 Follow us on LinkedIn and thank you to everyone who visited us to discover how we are enhancing the capabilities of those on the front lines of combating violent extremism.   • 🚀 Exciting News! 🚀 We had an incredible time at the EU Knowledge Hub Radicalisation Prevention 2.0 event on Monday, June 17th, 2024, in Brussels for the launch of the EU Knowledge Hub! 🌍✨ We were thrilled to showcase the innovative GEMS project at our exhibition table. 🔍 About GEMS: The Horizon Europe research project GEMS (Gaming Ecosystem as a Multi-layered Security Threat) is dedicated to combating the spread of extremism within the gaming ecosystem. Goals include: ·      Advancing the field of radicalisation and violent extremism with a new academic field, Sociology of Gaming and Radicalisation. ·      Equipping European Police Authorities (EPAs) with a novel Training Curriculum and the Watchtower, an innovative AI platform designed to identify and prevent extremist content and recruitment in online gaming space. ·      Establishing the European Networks Against Gaming-Related Extremism (ENgaGE) to foster cross-sectoral collaboration dedicated to countering extremist presence in the gaming ecosystem. ·      Launching an effective Citizens Awareness Campaign and developing evidence-based Policy Solutions to improve high level decision making, empower citizens and enhance youth/gamers protection. GEMS brings together a diverse consortium, including 2 universities, a think tank, 2 industry partners, an SME agency, and  4 EPAs, all united in the mission to safeguard EU citizens. 🗣️ Ioannis Armakolas, Research Fellow, Head of South East Europe Programme - Lead, GEMS Research Team ELIAMEP : "The GEMS project represents a groundbreaking effort to address the extremist exploitation within the gaming ecosystem, aligning with the objectives of Horizon Europe’s Cluster 3: Civil Security for Society.
