These students have worked hard and are well on their way to building a career in skilled trades - strengthening our local industry and community! Last December, we had the opportunity to make everyone feel like a member of the home team at the Newfoundland Growlers’ “NEW Foundlander Night”. The ANC, along with friends, family, and clients, were gifted tickets to a Friday night hockey game. It was a jam-packed evening of sports, entertainment, international music, and, most importantly, lots of community integration and support. Some newcomers even had the chance to share stories and be a part of the action, like ringing the opening buzzer! Enjoy this video https://bit.ly/4gjaUMG from a night that perfectly represents the spirit of #WelcomingWeek2024. What says "Welcome to Newfoundland and Labrador" more than berry picking next to the ocean? For #WelcomingWeek2024 we would like share some photos from a recent blueberry excursion ANC clients took to beautiful Bacon Cove in Conception Bay. Everyone left with full bags and buckets and smiles on their faces (but hopefully not sore backs!) Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada / Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada

Sharing and celebrating one another’s culture goes a long way in making people feel recognized and included. For #WelcomingWeek2024, let’s look back at Diversity Days 2024, held at our language school in honour of #WorldRefugeeDay. On June 19th and 20th, the students showcased their many unique backgrounds with a Multicultural Variety Show and potluck. It was a dazzling array of fashion, song, dance, and poetry, followed by an incredible feast of international delights and the universal language of delicious food!
