This week’s #tbt project highlight features Adohi Hall at University of Arkansas – Completed in 2019 in Fayetteville, AR, USA. EQUILIBRIUM’s Eric Karsh says, “It was an honor for Equilibrium to be a part of such a groundbreaking project. Aside from the work Adohi Hall did to counter perceived limitations on the scale of mass timber structures, I personally enjoy the project’s relationship between the indoor and outdoor. The use of randomly distributed columns in the outdoor area adds a fun and whimsical element to the building.” The multi-award winning Adohi Hall was, at the time of completion, the largest cross laminated timber (CLT) building in the United States and the first large-scale mass timber residence hall. The superstructure consists of a glue-laminated timber post and beam structure and CLT decking. Lateral resistance is provided by reinforced concrete stair and elevator cores, which were required by the local authorities for fire resistance. To learn more about this project, visit our website!
