Today in Bhurban #Pakistan, the Government of Pakistan and key stakeholders signed the 'Bhurban Declaration,' marking a major commitment to improving #MaternalNutrition. This agreement, formalized at the National Policy Dialogue on Maternal Nutrition, aims to advance the Pakistan Maternal Nutrition Strategy (PMNS) 2022-27. With significant issues like #anaemia and vitamin deficiencies among women, urgent action is needed to break the cycle of #malnutrition. #Malnutrition and #ClimateChange are two of the greatest challenges our world is facing today. Access to proper #nutrition is threatened by the increase of carbon emissions in our atmosphere, which impacts the nutrient availability of certain foods, leading to changes in nutritional quality. The decline in #zinc levels available in food could put an additional 132–180 million people at risk of zinc deficiency by 2050, particularly effecting populations in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
