As my final University of Waterloo co-op term comes to an end, I’m extremely excited to announce I’ll be extending my journey at Mantle as a contract Software Engineer Associate until the end of the year. 🎉 But first, I’d like to take a moment to reflect and share some of my experiences over the last 8 months. 📆 My time at Mantle has been nothing short of a perfect experience. Filled with growth, challenges, and achievements, I was able to accomplish a wide variety of undertakings. From demoing our product to entrepreneurs and attorneys, practicing the art of AI prompting with Google's #Gemini, networking at the 2024 Collision Conf, taking ownership of Mantle’s Timeline View for the Open Cap Table Coalition Summit, and playing a critical role in the planning and implementation of the Mantle’s new Tie-Out Tool for law firms. None of it would have been possible without the exceptional environment and community at Mantle. It’s difficult to express in words my gratitude and admiration for each and every one of the brilliant individuals on the Mantle team. Every step of the way, I received abundant support, encouragement, and guidance - both professionally and personally. The diverse and welcoming culture fostering strong relationships that extend beyond work hours, the constant pursuit of innovation reinforced through company rituals such as lunch-and-learns and hackathons, and the natural networking opportunities that come from working alongside experienced senior engineers and a number of global leaders in tech and entrepreneurship are truly unmatched. There’s something undeniably special at Mantle. The combination of a tightly-knit, supportive environment, the innovative freedom to make direct and meaningful contributions, and a team of highly ambitious individuals results in end solutions that not only work, but are ones we’re proud to show our clients within jaw-dropping turnaround times. There’s nothing quite like the moment when a client says, “Wow. This is going to change my life.” :) I started this work term with the objective of expanding my technical skills and leaving a meaningful mark at my internship. What is OCF? 📄 Developed by the Open Cap Table Coalition, OCF (Open Cap Table Format) is the first open-source format designed for sharing cap table data securely and efficiently between companies, law firms, equity management providers, and investors. What is OCX? 🔢 OCX (Open Cap Table Export Standard) presents OCF data in a standardized, familiar Excel format, including pre-built formulas for calculated values, enabling users to make quick calculations with the option to create custom spreadsheet views. *As of August 2024, Mantle is proud to be the only equity management platform that supports this open standard, including a complete export in OCX v0.8.

"An open and transparent standard for representing the most important data about your company's ownership is incredibly exciting.
