Wiki Loves Sport is a campaign created and organized by WikiDonne User Group since 2019.
The sixth edition of Wiki Loves Sport aims to improve content related to sport in the Wikimedia projects in general, and especially for the events listed below.
Wikimedia Canada wants to encourage users to create and improve content about Canadian athletes, particularly those from underrepresented communities such as para-athletics, Indigenous groups, women, and sexual minorities.
Dates
[edit]The contest runs online from 17 July 00:01 to 22 September 23:59 (UTC). Participants can join anytime.
Rules
- To participate, you must be a registered user on one of the Wikimedia projects;
- To be considered valid, the articles created must contain at least 3,000 bytes and be written between 17 July and 22 September 2024;
- If you are writing on Wikipedia or Wikiquote, all the articles should meet the content criteria for those projects: notability, reliable sources, respect for copyright.
ᐅ Editors who write 5 articles or more about female athletes or female & male para-athletes will receive a barnstar and a digital certificate from the WikiDonne User Group.
ᐅ Editors who write 1 article or more or upload 1 media or more about Canadian athletes from underrepresented communities will receive a barnstar from Wikimedia Canada.
