How do we support the leaders of the future? Today, we had the pleasure of hosting students from Institute for Marketing and Customer Insight | IMC-HSG at our Zurich office. The students heard from our colleagues on various topics: ➡ Katja Komel, MSc delved into the digital transformations in marketing and communications departments, and our approach to digital communication.  ➡ Eike Christian Meuter provided an overview of our innovative projects and initiatives. ➡ Luca Condosta, Ph.D. (he/him) discussed the evolving workforce dynamics, external megatrends, and their impact on future leaders. ➡ Sabine Beck showcased our VR experience. ➡ Martin Lalande gave an overview of our partnership with ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Big thanks to Laura-Eve Victoria Grellmann and Marcus Schögel for the inspiring discussions, and for giving us the chance to explore the knowledge and skills future leaders will need in a rapidly changing world. Your efforts made this event a success!

Did you know that embodied carbon—the emissions from building materials and construction—makes up a significant portion of global greenhouse gases?    But change is here. We are committed to empowering the construction sector with solutions that boost productivity, enhance energy efficiency, and support the shift to fossil-free power. Watch Craig McDonnell, Managing Director, Industries, ABB Robotics, as he showcases our technologies like robotics, 3D printing, and digital twins, which are reshaping the construction industry, driving sustainability to the forefront. And David Segbers, Product Manager for eMobility Drivetrain, Motion, ABB, as he talks about our electrified construction vehicles with which are reducing reliance on diesel fuels.    The future lies in the intelligent integration of robotics, automation, and electrification. Together, we can build smarter and more sustainable structures while accelerating the energy transition. Read more: https://lnkd.in/ekeBmtks

Buildings account for 30% of global energy consumption, making energy efficiency a critical issue. Microgrids offer a powerful solution by enabling buildings to generate, store, and manage their own energy. This reduces reliance on traditional grids and minimizes power outages, contributing to a more sustainable and resilient energy system. The construction of buildings is one of the biggest sources of greenhouse gases – it accounts for 11% of global energy-related carbon emissions.   We are committed to lowering that figure through cutting-edge solutions: ✅ Using 3D printing and digital twins to plan buildings better and avoid costly mistakes.  ✅ Leveraging construction robots to efficiently assemble structures.  ✅ Electrifying construction vehicles and equipment to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.    Together, we're setting a new standard for sustainable construction on the path to net zero.
