Our acquisition of Dr. Födisch Umweltmesstechnik AG Group strengthens our global leadership in continuous emission monitoring.   We're excited to announce that we have signed an agreement to acquire Födisch Group, Germany, a leading developer of advanced measurement and analytical solutions for the energy and industrial sectors. This strategic acquisition expands our strong position in industrial emission measurement, addressing critical energy and sustainability challenges worldwide.   🌍Key Highlights:   ➜ Enhanced Portfolio: Födisch Group’s advanced measurement and analytical solutions for the energy and industrial sectors will complement and widen our existing offerings. ➜ Broader Reach: We will add 250 talented employees and an additional €50 million in revenue to meet customers’ measurement challenges.  ➜ Industry offerings: Födisch Group's offerings such as gas analyzers and dust measurement solutions will further bolster our capabilities in various industries, including power plants, waste incineration, paper, glass, and cement. 🌟 What an inspiration! The Juergen Dormann Foundation event brought together scholars from around the globe to Switzerland. What did we learn?     Along with insights from our CEO Morten Wierod, Chief Communications & Sustainability Officer Karin Lepasoon (was Avasalu) and other senior ABB colleagues, we learned how our technologies drive sustainable development. Several of the articles in the latest edition of ABB Review mention "cavitation" and stress its importance in marine design. Without looking for the answer online, can you guess what exactly cavitation is and why it can be detrimental to marine systems?

We recently collaborated with EnBW to enhance power infrastructure in Stuttgart. The 10-week project upgraded critical components at Stuttgart's Altbach/Deizisau energy plants with the ultimate goal to ensure stable power supply to the community. A key component of this project was tackling aging infrastructure by introducing the latest digital switchgear, ultimately to boost the plant's safety, sustainability and reliability.

In 2023, 181 countries signed the Global Renewables and Energy Efficiency Pledge at COP28. A recent report from the International Energy Agency (IEA), shows that despite accelerating growth in renewables capacity, the world is not on track to meet the pledge’s goals.
