Over the coming weeks, we will be busting these myths with the facts, helping to foster a more accurate understanding of dyslexia. From the belief that dyslexia is linked to low intelligence to the misconception that it only affects boys, we'll be tackling these myths head-on. Dyslexia is not about reversing letters, nor can it be outgrown. We’ll also be addressing the myth that dyslexia is caused by poor teaching or lack of effort, and showing how, with the right support, neurominority individuals can achieve great success in their chosen fields. We’ll dispel the notion that accommodations are unfair advantages and clarify that dyslexia is not a vision problem but a difference in how the brain processes information.
